Haji Firooz

This is a story about a character named Haji Firooz in iran.

A character who come every year in the last days of winter, giving people the good news of the coming of spring. This character has lots of roots in our history and I tried to show them. One of them is Siavash and another one is Tammuz.

Siavash literally means “the one with the black stallion”. He is the symbol of innocence in Iranian literature.

His defense of his own chastity, self-imposed exile, loyalty to his wife and ultimate execution after being falsely accused of treachery against Afrasiab, King of Turan, have become intertwined with Iranian mythology and literature over the past millennia.

Tammuz , Sumerian Dumuzi, in Mesopotamian religion, god of fertility embodying the powers for new life in nature in the spring.

They both have Valuable long stories and it seems Haji firooz character came from them.

This digital painting, along with the narration of this story and its roots, with the help of Negargari, Iranian miniature , has expressed the Iranian image of this story.
