Business Insider has been a household name for years. As the pub’s coverage expanded into other topics, they outgrew the name and rebranded to Insider.
When Dan Hockley was tapped as Product Director to bring new life into Insider’s product he gave us a call. We had worked together when he was at VICE and he wanted to see if we could work our magic together one more time.
MetaLab partnered with Insider’s product team to validate their strategy and redesign the mobile apps for iOS and Android.
We leaned heavily on reductionist design principles and delightfully smooth transitions. The result is a fluid and clean browsing experience that encourages discovery.
Three months after launch and the app has seen a 4x increase in engagement.
