Hop Farm in the Clouds
Originally conceived as a collab with Ho.p Heads Farms of Michigan. Our goal with the beer was to showcase the terroir of the hops grown in Michigan. The challenge is how do I visualize that for the label? I hit upon the idea of a floating hop island in the clouds with a tiny little hop farm on it. Think hop farming meets the floating islands of Avatar. For the farm, I researched the actual Hop Head Farms. (I'd love to visit one day!) Their website landing page shows a little red tractor driving through hops. I pulled that detail and ran with it.
I usually have to separate the creative side from the critic side. I can't be giving myself critical feedback while designing something or else I'll get nowhere. So, if I was to look back at this label. I'd love to add the people of Hop Head Farms to really make it personal and highlight the collab. I'd also work on the clouds. They could use another round. They don't look super natural. What else would you touch up?
