Bob Hamelin | Baseball Card Design

Anyone who collects cards should know the legend of Bob Hamelin and his 1996 Pinnacle card (#289), a truly legendary piece of baseball art that stands the test of time. Forever immortalized in The Bob Emergency documentary by Jon Bois, Hamelin's Pinnacle card is just one in a long line of cards that make this Bob appear to be a random dude who wandered onto the field and then wound up winning the AL Rookie of the Year in 1994, beating out Hall of Fame talents like Manny Ramirez and Jim Edmonds. I like to think I have created a Hamelin card that actually makes him look like a baseball player, a momentous achievement in my eyes.

The concept of this card features two versions: a 1/1 superfractor and a #/99 fireworks parallel. Cut signatures a popular form of autographs, and this features part of a ball with a Hamelin autograph and a "ROY '94" inscription.
