Designing a future for real estate investing

Folks in my parents’ generation often saw home-ownership as an important way to build their wealth, but it has still been largely out of reach the next generation. So what am I doing about it?

Fundrise created the concept of an eREIT 10 years ago, which is maybe like an ETF, but for real estate. We offer anyone the ability to invest across many real estate projects that we manage directly, which reduces the operational costs of real estate investing at scale. We’re now heavily investing in our product org to create an investing/planning/diversification offering that should rival any other modern investment platform. This article explains why I’m excited about what we’re doing.

I created this illustration based on the Fundrise illustration style, borrowing a few elements from other talented designers on staff who created the look and feel. I sought to show a structure in progress. The grid behind sets the structure on a 2 dimensional flat surface, calling to blueprints, specs, and even investing performance charts, with the building breaking out above. The shadow and building together show a rough exponential curve that points 'up and to the right.' The building is still in progress, and you're invited to imagine moving little blocks into their proper space.
