Italian Navy ship "Amerigo Vespucci"

It was 1962 when the aircraft carrier USS Independence (CVA-62) crossing an Italian sailing ship in the Mediterranean waters flashed the signal asking: «Who are you». The answer was: "Amerigo Vespucci training ship, Italian Navy". The US ship replied "You are the most beautiful ship in the world."

Dedicated to the Amerigo Vespucci ship.
