Gold Dipped & Gold Baked - Etched Style
Two pieces of artwork for Barebottle's 5th Anniversary. The design brief is to create pieces of art the reflect two similar beers, both have been aged in apple brandy barrels, but one has pie spices added. I hit upon the idea of a similar naming convention (Gold Dipped & Gold Baked) after exploring the etching process and styling. I'm drawn to a sense of rich, elegance in both designs. The golden etched apples evoke something you might find in the Louvre. The pie inspired design relies on a strict diamond pattern to frame the pies and provide structure to the design. The dough strips across the top of the pie are the inspiration for the structure of the underlaying pattern. The strong use of gold and velvet red bring the designs close to each other while the pattern based layout in Gold Baked create contrast and allows both bottles to stand out without muddling the connection between them. Which one do you prefer?
