Chess King and Queen

As part of the chess apparel series, I decided to focus on shape simplicity and color/size emphasis for this one. The complexity of chess is largely due to the complexity of the game pieces—both in their appearance and their movements during play. In order to modernize the visual elements without losing the gravitas of the game itself, I chose to simply silhouette the pieces and give it some punchiness with vibrant, CMYK inspired colors.
