Users are not reading the majority of copy on web pages.

Chances are you're just scanning through this post. According to NNG research, the most you could expect a user to read is about 28% of the words on a given page.

While looking at a Wired article, I was looking for a way to make it easier for the user to scan and find the information they're seeking. Then I thought about how YouTube implemented video chapters so that you can quickly search through the timeline to find what you want to see. When reading, articles can also be broken up into chapters so that the user can quickly scan for information.
