Daily UI 022 - Search

Challenge 022: Design something search related. It could be a search bar, an advanced search window, a search function, etc.

For this challenge, I wanted to emulate Google and other search engines. One thing that's always bothered me about search engines is the fact that you may have to be verbose with your search inquiry.

While Google's search engine allows for specific search commands within their search bar, but they aren't quite user friendly. They require the user to utilize a series of quotation marks and capitalized words for the sake of inclusion and exclusion in their search.

With this prototype, I wanted to lower the barrier of entry for users in allowing them to create a more narrow or broad search, depending on what they're looking for. Once something has been typed in the main search bar at the top of the window, suggestions may pop up in the include and exclude sections, giving the user the option to either use those filters, or enter in their own.

This prototype was made in Framer and can be found here: https://framer.com/share/UI-Challenges--449hH1kqdlS7pKYoPutN/wzybsBUxC
