Gene's Sausage Shop & Delicatessen

The design team is continuing to build out illustrations for our guide to Chicago.

I created this illustration for the Gene's Sausage Shop entry, but with an intentional emphasis on memorializing the legendary Delicatessen Meyer, which I have I fond memories of visiting as a child. Gene's bought out Meyer's space, but they still keep the old neon Meyer sign hanging inside, above their staircase. This project was a fun excuse to play with the forms of the sign, and then get stoopid.
