eFootball Menu Design

I've been a fan of Pro Evolution Soccer (PES) since the early 2000's. Something that always bothered me about those games were the atrocious menus, both in terms of design and ux. I started this project with a mission to provide a visually appealing, easy to navigate interface with smooth and seamless transitions. Everything happens within the same 3D space, no "page turns" and loading. This was originally a bit different stylistically, as I began this project a year ago when PES 2022 was announced. Now that they have rebranded into eFOOTBALL with official (albeit in my opinion pretty bad) colors and branding, this is the end result: an eFootball menu design highlighting the kick off flow!

A lot of manual work and exploration (see images for those below) went into this, including creating the background elements and creating the jersey that sits on the 3D model of Messi (shoutout to byungmoon kang over at artstation for the brilliant render). The animations were done completely inside Adobe XD, but I plan on creating another animation with After Effects in order to give it some more polish, separate timing between animated components, etc.
