Book Talk App

Hi!
This app idea is aimed towards kids 12+ to young adult to help them engage with reading for enjoyment. According to the National Assessment of Educational Progress 25 million children in the US can’t read proficiently and this decrease in reading is linked to various causes that are different for each kid; it could be using "free time" on social media or lack of interest due to the reading habit never being encouraged or formed at home among other things.
This app aims to utilize kid's growing savviness in technology and preferred learning styles of Gen Z to get them interested in reading. Each book information page would contain a short book trailer or book talk and a very little amount of text. Kids would be able to search specifically by their reading level to find books that best suit them.
