Throwback Thursday

Back in the mid-90's, two designers working at a large marketing agency found a very cool, upstart website that featured sports-based logos — "Chris Creamers Sports Logos.”

Today, known as "Sportslogos.net," it’s one of the most viewed websites in the world for athletic logos and has been featured several times on major networks such as TSN, ESPN, etc., as well as inspiring a number of designers —ourselves included — entering into the world of sports logo design.

The site was run by a fourteen year old with a passion for the Toronto Blue Jays and sports logos in general. We were young and eager, and after getting to know Chris, we offered to design a logo for his site which he still uses it today — seventeen years later.

Since Chris is Canadian and his site featured so many logos from the US & Canada, the logo's concept was to merge a star, representing the US and a maple leaf, representing Canada, completed with the letter “C."

It looks a little dated now, but then again, it’s been used for nearly two decades...
