The Problem Space
Island Ice Cream is a company that sells tropical foods, primarily ice cream, to people in Maryland. The goal of this project is to create a logo for this company that can be used across all their products, whether they be physical or digital.
The Target Audience
On the surface, the people who would engage with this company the most are people from tropical countries who have moved to the Maryland area. However, this company is setting itself up as a high-end business that would cater to a specific clientele. Lastly, the company would also appeal to people who like trying food from different cultures.
Competitors
The two competitors would be Häagen Dazs and Gelato Fiasco. Both are luxurious brands that offer a wide range of flavours to their customers.
The Solution
The problem was solved by a logo that celebrated the island roots of the products that this company was selling by incorporating an island theme and merging it with the main product – ice cream. The line art style of the logo and secondary san serif text create a delicacy that highlights the type of client that this company wants to attract while the serif text works to attract the attention of passersby looking for something sweet.
