Food Web

Hello Dribbblers!👋

This is my very first website design that i made when i was in Human-Computer Interaction class.

To create the design for this food website, I went through several creative processes:

1. Idea

   • The theme I chose for the website is traditional Indonesian cuisine. The website's name is +62Recipe Indonesian Traditional Food. +62 is Indonesia's country code for international telecommunications. So, +62 represents Indonesia, and Recipe is the English word for "resep," which means recipe in Indonesian. The idea behind focusing on traditional food is motivated by the relatively low commercial value of Indonesian food in foreign countries. Therefore, this website is designed in English to make it easily understandable by foreigners and hopefully increase their interest in Indonesian cuisine. The website provides various recipes for Indonesian dishes along with video tutorials.

2. Research

   • After deciding on the concept/idea for the website, I conducted research on websites that offer cooking tutorials. I found a few excellent sources for reference, including www.simplyrecipes.com and www.minimalistbaker.com. From these websites, I applied the ATM principle, which stands for Amati (Observe), Tiru (Imitate), Modifikasi (Modify), to avoid plagiarism. I drew inspiration from them, including content placement, color combinations, footer design, and additional features like ratings and cooking duration.

3. Sketching

   • In this phase, I refined my ideas and research into more specific designs. Instead of using paper, I used the Figma tool to experiment with color combinations and decide which ones were suitable and attractive. I also determined which features to include. During this phase, I decided on a color palette with a monochromatic scheme based on the primary colors of red and white, symbolizing the Indonesian flag. I also selected fonts, such as Montserrat, Comfortaa, and Roboto, for use in the design.

4. Execution

   • In the execution phase, I used Figma to design the landing page. Building on my sketches, I finalized the design, including the navigation bar, header, main content, and features like buttons. I also designed the footer. To fulfill the feature requirements in the web design, I sourced icons and created the logo.
