I’m thankful to be alive.

I’m grateful to have been born at the time I had. I’m gifted with modern health care and electronics that help with many tasks that could otherwise be difficult. If it weren’t for the growth in healthcare and medicine I possibly wouldn’t have been born today or made it as far as I have.

Complications at birth left my father deciding who to keep alive. Even if he chose me my parents were told I could be born with disabilities. My mother and I both made out okay.

At the age of seventeen I had a chocolate cyst on my ovary that burst. At the time of the pain I experienced the doctors had no clue what was wrong with me. My mother found a specialist to see in Boston that then discovered the issue. We were told that if we waited longer that complication could occur or I could possibly not have made it.

With that being said, I’m thankful to be alive. To be here. To be life.
