Brazil’s Official COVID-19 App

Building a mobile application to deliver essential and official health guidance to citizens in collaboration with the Brazilian Ministry of Health.

At the very beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in Brazil, the Ministry of Health needed to communicate better with the citizen and also obtain information on the citizen’s health status as soon as possible.

During the first critical weeks of the pandemic, the whole country expected guidance from the Ministry of Health.
When they asked us to help them achieve this goal, we started interviewing epidemiology experts from the Ministry of Health and health surveillance to decide which features we would deliver first.

The approach to design the user interface was to create a clean, information-oriented interface. Images, illustrations, and consistent iconography we’re crucial to help users find the information they needed.
The virtual screening illustrations focused on diversity, and their colors indicated the screening results.
