Unchosen Disney and Pixar's Luca Movie Title Treatments

Last year we almost melted into a puddle of incoherent sobbing joy when we were approached by Disney to help them with movie title treatments. We got to work on 3 projects with them. Luca was one of them. It's a coming-of-age story of a young sea monster living near an Italian riviera village. The story takes place in a nostalgically nondescript era somewhere in the 1920s to '40s. We were asked to take inspiration from the typography of that era, mixed with themes from the location and story (water, a Vespa, sea monster fins, etc). ⁠

All concepts we cooked up were custom type. While our concepts didn't make the final cut, it was still so awesome to be a part of the creative process that led to the final. ⁠
