Mictecacihuatl | Aztec goddess of Death

Along with her husband, Miclantecuhtl, she is ruling over the land of Mictlan, the lowest level of the Underworld where the dead reside.

Her role is to guard the bones of the dead and govern over the festivals of the dead.

It's believed that she was born and sacrificed as an infant, before becoming the wife of Miclantecuhtl. Together, they have the power over all three types of souls dwelling around the Underworld - those who died normal deaths, and heroic or non-heroic deaths.
