Hope After The Storm Cover Mockup

"Hope After the Storm" is a strikingly emotional collection of stories told by Oklahomans who found themselves in the eye of a cataclysmic EF5 tornado that tore through the center of their small town of Moore, Oklahoma on May 20, 2013.

This book was lovingly created thanks to a partnership between the Central Oklahoma Humane Society (OKHumane) and Ad2OKC, a not-for-profit organization located in central Oklahoma, focused on the professional development of young men and women working in the fields of advertising, public relations, marketing and communications. Each year, Ad2OKC chooses a local nonprofit and donates marketing skills and services to that nonprofit.

In early 2013, our Board of Directors unanimously voted to partner with OK Humane. Only two months later, on May 20, the tornado touched down and the lives of hundreds of pet families were shattered.

OK Humane's staff and volunteers displayed a passionate determination to reunite lost pets with their distraught families. They provided free medical care to those rescued pets and assistance for their owners' pet-related needs such as pet deposit payments, materials to rebuild destroyed fences, free spay/neuter surgeries, free vaccinations, free micro-chipping services, free pet food, and other supplies. Ad2OKC was proud to document their efforts.

Of the 151 animals OK Humane ultimately received, 88 were reunited with their owners.

I was honored to be asked to serve as the creative director for this project, and deeply touched by every single pet (and owner) that I met throughout its creation.

"Hope After the Storm" will be available for purchase May 13, 2014 via Amazon.com and local Oklahoma City retailers (still to be determined). Pre-orders will open soon, so please keep an eye here for a link.
