ChoiceBot the chatbot evolved from a whiteboarding session that I managed as the lead designer for General Education websites at Red Ventures.

I explored the options of whether to choose a chatbot, fixed widget, or landing page. I presented my ideas to key stakeholders in the Marketing & Business Intelligence teams. We decided to go with the chatbot experience, and I was able to collaborate with an engineering team at Red Ventures in a separate business vertical within the company that had an existing chatbot tool. I was able to alter my ideas to fit the existing chatbot's technical restraints in order to re-use resources & save engineering spend. Although it was not as interactive as I had originally envisioned, the end-result tested very well and increased conversion.

Why do I wireframe with pen & paper? It allows me to take a break from screentime and get the creative juices flowing. Also, it's quick and allows for fast iterations. This way, I can get feedback from key stakeholders and narrow down my direction sooner rather than later. This decreases time-waste, and I can iron out small details later with refined wireframes or within the mockups, themselves.
