Hathor takes on a huge variety of roles throughout Egyptian mythology including the symbolic mother of pharaohs, vengeful protector of Ra, deity of maternal care, love, and sexuality, and guider of souls to the afterlife. There's more, but you get the picture. She's very busy.
She has more temples dedicated to her than any other Egyptian goddess.
