liip

When we started thinking about liip we knew we wanted the name to sound or look Scandinavian with an umlaut.

We found the Swedish word for lip is läpp. Which at first we loved. But after living with it and realizing we would always pronounce it as it was spelled, lap, and not wanting to have to explain it to everyone we couldn’t love it anymore. It needed to change.

Liip is so simple I couldn’t believe the name was available. It’s absolutely perfect. And with the two i’s we get the pseudo umlaut and Scandinavian look we were going for.

The logo today is a little cleaned up from what we started with.
