Pop-ups are a good alternative to inform and navigate the user from using the system. When all works as planned or maybe when an unexpected thing happened, pop-ups come to drive user feeling and giving the solution as following the business.

Drive the user feels when they left mandatory as blank with uncomfortable red text, drive the user feels happy with confetti emoji when transaction successful. All that is to make the human and the business works well.
