Logo design for Cobaia – clothing line concept
Cobaia is the Portuguese word for "Guinea Pig" and the name of a new clothing line targeted at young upper-class people between 15 and 30. The core values for this brand were experimentation, innovation, ahead of its time, and leading.
My idea was to only use a typeface instead of depicting an animal. The guinea pig walks in a very flexible manner and behaves almost like a curve, something I kept in mind while choosing the font. I presented three wordmark ideas, which all hint at experimentation and quality.
The first idea is a letter C wrapping around the letter O to suggest "experimenting with different clothing" as a core value, using a lucrative font.
The second idea was the same concept but executed differently, with the syllables CO and BAIA separated and in contrast to each other to communicate "trying a new combination."
The last idea was a more futuristic approach, with a geometric font for a contemporary look and yet another combination of the letters C and O.
