PS&S - Figma Smart Animate

Hello everyone! ✨

Today I want to show you how I tried to explore the limits of Figma's smart animate feature.

Figma is a great tool to design, collaborate, and handoff digital products, but also to create with ease animated prototypes. But... I advise being extra cautious ⚠️ when working with the current implementation of this feature as it's struggling with rendering more complex projects and bitmaps. The result is far from what I wanted to achieve - there are some serious problems with the smoothness of the animation (e.x. dropped frames) that really hurt my eyes.

Despite all that, I wanted to share with you my work, hopefully, the aforementioned issues will be resolved in future Figma updates.
