breaking free

breaking free ▪ oooh my, my drawing for day 5 of the #fearlessartchallenge took way longer than i wanted. the prompt was 'metamorphosis' and while sketching some weird lines evolving into a lot of spots, i was actually interpreting the prompt as 'breaking free' - a beautiful butterfly finally leaving behind it's cocoon, showing off its beauty, exploring the world. i did multiple also-weird sketches from women breaking out of their cocoons - well, let's just say they did NOT work. so, here is what i finally came up with - a woman breaking free from living up to other people's expectations. we've done enough of that, haven't we? let's live our lives the way WE want to. (and let's be beautiful butterflies - in being just the way we are! wow, #romanceoff).
