Brunswick Review - (Not) Predicting The Future

This illustration is from a series created to accompany an article about Singapore’s “cryptic” think tank, which appears in the latest issue of Brunswick Review.

The article is about the Singapore government’s team of futurists. They use foresight to anticipate, envision and respond to crisis, developing an anticipatory capacity.

The article also addresses the definitions of 'complicated' and 'complex'. This spot illustration interprets the difference between certainty and uncertainty - the relatively orderly atoms are complicated (certain), the unruly one is complex (uncertain).
