Navigating the Waters of the United States

This illustration accompanied an article entitled ‘Navigating the Waters of the United States’ about recent legislation that has reduced safeguards for US waters.

I wanted my illustration to portray how integral these waters are to the lives of all Americans and so I depicted a lively waterway, forming a scene that reveals itself to be an abstract depiction of the American flag.
