Sun Dried - 1

Definitely one of my favourite Rip Curl prints, Sun Dried features a hand-illustrated lion's skull in a sharp and rough style. I rounded it out by an awesome commercially free font called Trade Winds, which I redrew and tweaked for the placements. As an added ode to the local African scene, I included the Latin name for our unique species of lion, Panthera Leo.

I was such a fan of this print that I now wear both colourways on occasion, something I'm always so stoked to do! It's one thing to see your work on a billboard or on your Instagram profile, but it's another to see it when you look in the mirror in the morning! A huge thanks, once again, to the Rip Curl SA crew for the ongoing privilege of being part of the team, and for helping me create work South Africans can wear and be proud of! 🤙
