SDLFF 20 Poster Entry

2020 it was a year of growth and reflection for most; a year that will be will never be forgotten, to say the least. Deco is an art form that can be seen in architecture across Latin American and is a prominent style seen at the train station in San Diego. A place where family and friends from far and wide come together which is something we all longed for this year.

The dots in the diamond for example are meant to reflect the use of 6ft markets that we can see in supermarkets and store lines without it being very obvious. The hummingbirds symbolized prosperity we are all hoping for in the new year and form of guidance for our personal growth and communities as we find new ways to make it through these difficult times. Although there weren’t huge events, I do believe that nature was appreciated a little bit more this year; several people found new ways to get out of the buildings we have been quarantined in and get some fresh air. It’s inspiring and I have hope for positive changes.
