Semgrep by r2c

Semgrep is a static analysis tool that we have created here at r2c for application security and development teams.

Our process was fun. We had developed the product first with minimal brand development (we literally gave it a shape and a color and called it good for a bit). Once we started to see traction with our product/ product community; we decided it might be time to invest more in our product brand.

Step 1:
I went to our community of alpha and beta users to ask what they thought of Semgrep? What are common metaphors they use when talking about this product and are there any feelings or emotion attached to this product?

Step 2:
I went to our internal teams (engineers) to discuss their views, emotions and even ideal future directions they dream about.

Step 3....?
I collected this information and we started sketching. We took this through a couple more rounds of feedback with both groups and we ended up here. I could get more detailed but the interesting thing here is that we already had built a community so we had a great pool of users with awesome ideas.
