Delaware Book of Lists

I was approached in January of my last year at University to compete with two other girls in my class. Our job was to create a new cover for the Delaware Business Times Book of Lists. The company wanted to give this opportunity to students so we could learn about the design process when dealing with a client.

After we all agreed to be apart of this competition, we had an initial meeting with the people of Delaware Today. We got to hear about the Book of Lists and what they had in mind for the design. We got to ask questions about anything we wanted to know so we had a good idea of what design direction they wanted to go in.
We had about two weeks to complete the project and come back with 2-3 options.
I came back with 3, and we each presented our pieces to the people of Delaware Today.

After we each presented our works, they gave us very specific feedback on how we could improve our designs.
We had a few days to redesign and then we sent in the final pieces. A few weeks later they chose my design as the cover.
It was a great experience to learn first hand about client work in the design industry.
