Starting with the 2021 NBA G League season, the Motor City Cruise are a new team that serves as the affiliate of the Detroit Pistons. The vision for the logo was to create a fresh, new brand while maintaining connectivity with the Detroit Pistons core identity. This was achieved by linking the team colors, fonts and symbolism, but in a style that appeals to a younger demographic of basketball fans. The name Motor City Cruise has a strong connection to the automotive heritage of the city and the engine that drives the team.
