Cards with Content

Digging into more details on the redesign of my personal site.

For the first time, I’m sprinkling Japanese into the design. It’s fun to integrate this part of my life into the interface. I spend a lot of time studying Japanese language and culture. I love the people. It’s been a long time since I’ve lived there. But their culture and aesthetics and always with me.

I’m looking forward to building the site out. I’m thinking through that process while I design it. It’s going to be built on Jekyll and Github pages. The UX Heroes content is up there now and has been static for several years. https://www.smallandsimplethings.org/

As I work through the design, I’m also conscious of the time it takes to build and maintain a personal site. I enjoy the work, but I don’t have unlimited time for it. So I’m designing it to be easy to maintain. This means it will be less like a blog and more like a personal portfolio.

Thanks for taking a look!
