The Discarded book cover design

This was an idea I had for a book cover for the story "The Discarded" I am simplifying it a little but the main inspiration was the entire group of people stuck on the ship orbiting the moon and their collective desires to return home. This is part of a series where I make book covers using mainly "line art" and pick a certain character or set of characters to reference on the cover. This was actually the hardest of the 3 for me to figure out what I wanted to do for it. As for this specific cover when looking at the different artwork I see for it online most of the time they seem to focus on having pictures of the people that lived on the ship so I felt like going the minimalist approach in implying things in orbit and things being far away and vaguely referencing desire using the darker color red was interesting at the time.
