Solving Lazada's Cart Abandonment Problem

During the summer holidays, wanting to equip myself with more technical skills so I could better contribute to the local start-up that I was interning at, I signed up for a UI/UX course. Over the 2 days, my team and I embarked on a project that focused on resolving Lazada's problem of cart abandonments and drop-outs.

Through research, interviews, main persona analysis and affinity mappings, we discovered that the sense of security and certainty is a crucial factor that could reduce cart abandonment. We discovered that Lazada's user interface at that point of time had certain features that compromised this main reason. As a bonus, we were honoured that our analysis, case study and proposition received a special mention by Moses Lim, our course instructor who is also an expert in the UI/UX field.

With our findings, we used Figma to illustrate a prototype of the new and improved check-out system that could greater provide security and certainty through:
1. improving the Lazada Wallet and E-coins redemption system
2. 1 page upfront total check-out cost with minimised re-directory and 0 hidden costs and conditions
3. Verifications of orders and ability for customers to sound out issues faced for an enhanced secure check-out process.
