Day 384

Today's logo design is a conceptual take on a logo mark for a ceramic studio. When I was in college I loved throwing on the wheel. It came so naturally to me and overall is a really relaxing form of therapy to destress. I have found through experience that you are either a sculpture or a thrower. If you could do both very well...then you were just pretty damn talented. I myself was a thrower and could throw on the wheel all day if my hands wouldn't dry out. I would center the clay very quickly by locking my arms and resting them on my legs. The trick was finding a balance between the perfect speed you could handle and the pressure you would apply when doing the process "cone to dome." The triangle in the logo symbolizes the hands of the craftsman throwing on the wheel while the negative circular space symbolizes the wheel. The water droplet in the center symbolizes the water that is needed to keep the clay wet in order to work the clay into the shape you desire. If you have ever done ceramics are you a sculpture or a thrower?
