Rath Kalpana

After so many years of looking at this picture, I finally understood the meaning behind it, or at least I think I do! ๐Ÿ˜‡

This picture depicts the concept of ๐™๐™–๐™ฉ๐™ ๐™†๐™–๐™ก๐™ฅ๐™–๐™ฃ๐™– that has been described in Bhagavad Gฤซtฤ and Katha Upanishad (also known as Kathopanishad) ๐Ÿ“•

๐™๐™–๐™ฉ๐™ means chariot and ๐™†๐™–๐™ก๐™ฅ๐™–๐™ฃ๐™– means image. It is a metaphor used in Hindu Scriptures to describe the relationship between senses, mind, intellect and the Self.

In this picture the ๐™๐™ช๐™ข๐™–๐™ฃ ๐™—๐™ค๐™™๐™ฎ has been represented by the ๐™˜๐™๐™–๐™ง๐™ž๐™ค๐™ฉ where:

the horses represent the ๐™Ž๐™š๐™ฃ๐™จ๐™š๐™จ

reins represent the ๐™ˆ๐™ž๐™ฃ๐™™

the charioteer (Lord Krishna) represents ๐™„๐™ฃ๐™ฉ๐™š๐™ก๐™ก๐™ž๐™œ๐™š๐™ฃ๐™˜๐™š

the owner (Arjuna) represents the ๐™Ž๐™ค๐™ช๐™ก

He who has the understanding of the driver of the chariot (his intellect) and controls the rein of his mind, he reaches the end of the journey, that supreme abode of the all-pervading.โœจ
