The Sweet Sew application iteraction
Dear knitting-lovers! 🧶🧶🧶
Despite how much the world has changed, the love of a handmade hobby is gaining momentum even faster. This project was especially warm for me. I remembered the smell of yarn and the thrill with which my grandmother knitted colorful sweaters for me. Until recently, I thought that this niche is not very popular among young people. But I was shocked when I analyzed competitors from the current situation. There is a niche, and it is popular, handmade crafts are very much appreciated, for example, the same Etsy, but there are no high-quality tutorials for learning. For me, it has become a real visa - to create an entirely new application for my client, who is madly in love with creativity. Mary, thank you for this project.
😱Problem
The problem with all modern training platforms for handicrafts is that the content is chaotically scattered. There are no high-quality videos, and descriptions for them are often very vague, which prevents them from adequately preparing for the course or lesson. Moreover, there is no one place where different directions of needlework are collected at all. Most often, these are the author’s blogs of famous masters, like Martha Stewart, and you need to bookmark a lot of different accesses, sites and pay a lot of money for subscriptions.
🎯Goal
Mary wanted to create a unified platform so that anyone can access all content or a specific course and everything will be systematized. Therefore, I took this goal into account and supplemented it with a significant one. You no longer need to rummage in the bowels of YouTube searching for this or that particular technique.
✅Solution
The process itself was interactive; I started asking my bodies and Granny what the most useful for the educational process in one direction or another is. And I have collected the best practices already using APP, platforms, and magazines for needlework and combined them into one concept. The APP has all been tested at the UX stage and wrapped in a very warm and atmospheric UI. This design is reminiscent of a warm patchwork baby blanket that is so different but put together in one insanely beautiful composition that looks holistic and gives a homely feeling. Look how great it turned out !! This cool video was specially prepared so that you were imbued with the atmosphere of the depths of your soul, like Mary and me.
