SUSTAINABLE FASHION MAGAZINE
The fashion industry is a significant contributor to environmental issues such as climate change and pollution. These problems make transitioning to a more sustainable future imperative.
"Fleur" is a fictional sustainable fashion magazine for which I designed a cover. I completed this project for a school illustration assignment about sustainable fashion. My illustration not only delves into the use of biofabrics, but it also taps into sustainable methods for creating magazine covers. Rather than using large amounts of energy and resources to organize a photoshoot, my magazine cover uses fashion illustration as a sustainable alternative.
The magazine cover is mixed media. The dress skirt is made of flower petals that I hand-pressed, photographed, edited, and collaged in Photoshop. I drew the rest of the illustration on my iPad using the Adobe Fresco pencil and watercolor brushes.
