Mexico – coat of arms

Since my wife is Mexican, I get to see the Mexican coat of arms quite frequently. The problem with it is that the current one is from 1976 and still hand drawn. It's got its beauty to it, but it's way too detailed for actual use. Still so, it's the official icon of a nation. You can see that it needs an urgent redesign when you get a stamp in your passport...it's a black blot nothing more.

So I decided to give it a go. It's still very detailed, but allows far better legibility in small sizes and looks very clean on greater ones. I did some mock-ups with this and they look great.

Hope you like it!
