AMERICA'S GREATEST HEART RUN & WALK

Every year the American Heart Association in Utica, New York holds a logo design competition for their "America's Greatest Heart Run & Walk" fundraiser event. The challenge was to create a logo incorporating the event title and the tagline "Apart, Yet Together" while adhering to the association's brand guidelines.

Two of my final designs moved on to a final round of the top three logos. The public voted for the winning logo on Facebook. One of my logo designs won the competition with 196 out of 475 votes.

The logo is a heart-shaped medal representing the progress made throughout 47 years due to America's Greatest Heart Run & Walk. It also symbolizes the American Heart Association's continuous goal to improve the health and well-being of all. The design is flexible, as the logo mark can be used without text if needed. For the text, I used font weight and size to create a clear hierarchy. Below are examples of how the logo can be printed or embroidered on various promotional products.
