Modern Mansion - Waukee

Two items were at the top of this client's checklist; Horrible drainage in the backyard and as few plants as possible. The back rain garden should alleviate most of the drainage problem and the plants in the rain garden will allow for maximum water intake. River birches, ninebarks, and irises will love the full sun and wet soils of the backyard. The front, sides, and back of the house are all simply planted with evergreens, like boxwoods, and ornamental grasses. Coralbells offer a splash of color without bringing much of a maintenance need to the landscape.
