I was reading through the first sections of Logo Modernism last night (which Leah got me for Christmas) and was really struck by the small bit about Japanese mons. I'd seen some before when we visited Japan and had an idea of the cool family symbol/crest system they had but never knew the name or much about them.

I've been wanting to play with a more symbolic style recently since everything I've been doing lately has been borderline illustrative, so I might be doing a few of these.

Also, Google really wants me to be looking up "Japanese moms" while researching these. Like, I know they have moms, Google.
