Wendigo - 56/365
Linguistic involvement:
I've been including the names of the mythical creatures I've been making in their original language and script (or at least trying to). I feel like it adds a little more to the piece - some kind of cultural context around them. Cockatrice, Old French. Siren, Greek. This one was harder, so I had to call in (bother) my resident linguist.
She's not trained in Native American language systems and I'm not trained in anything, but we put together what we think is an at-least-close version of "Wendigo" in Objiwe.
Syllabic writing systems are so cool.
