03 || Eddie Chacon - Pleasure, Joy & Happiness

I used to see Eddie and his wife at vintage clothing shows years back and was always in awe at how fucking cool he seemed. There was a quiet confidence that could be felt from a distance. I never had a conversation with him, but I’d usually try to find a way to walk past and at least say “excuse me” haha.

Fast forward a decade or so and he releases his debut solo album and it’s just like the impression I got from him before quiet and confident. Eddie’s voice is superb! After all, he was one half of the early nineties duo Charles & Eddie. But he sings in a way that feels like he’s in the room with you. The production and partnership with John Carroll Kirby is absolutely perfect as well!
