04 || Washed Out - Purple Noon

I’ve been a Washed Out fan since practically day one. I was pulled into the chillwave hype when it hit the scene 10 years ago because it was simultaneously lo-fi and hi-fi. But like humans do, I went on to new genres and sounds. The thing that kept me tuned into Washed Out was the fact that he reinvented himself with each release.

Purple Noon is sort of a return to his roots. It sounds like a more mature and refined version of the first release that captured the blogosphere. The whole album sounds like Sade - Sweetest Taboo and Chris Isaak - Wicked Game and that is definitely not a knock.

Favorite songs: Paralyzed and Haunt
