Ring of Fire Tour

A project created for the One Eleven watch brand and the adventure photographers Erich Roepke and Stein Retzlaff on their Pacific Northwest tour of volcanoes stretching from Lake Tahoe, California to Mt. Rainier in Washington state.
Erich and Stein rode mountain bikes between, climbed and skied as many volcanoes as possible.

There were lots of elements to pull from for the theme and I went through many variations. I wanted to have a cut paper texture throughout and in order to keep it simple I focused on the volcano element. I decided to forego ski's and keep snow on the peak as a proxy element and introduced a mountain bike tire to encapsulate the primary animation.
